Reasoning of CEERD Establishment
Three issues which as technological progress consequence and modernization is Global Warming, Rare of Fuel, and Solid Waste Management.
Pollution which is not in control causes solar energy snared in atmosphere to increase causing boosts up earth temperature. Impact generated is the happening of change of climate confusing cropping pattern and generates floods; melts it is ices in pole boosts up sea-water causing engulfs coast and islands; improvement of quality and storm amount and tornado wind causing hard and bigger damage and a number of other impacts.
The root cause its (the breakdown ideal composition of atmosphere so that happened Global Warming is carbon emission ( CO2, CH4, CFC, SULFUR, etc) into Atmosphere. methane Gas ( CH4) emission by garbage ( waste) organic from garbage end place of exile ( Landfill) equal to finite 14% of 25% and has effect GRK 21 times bigger than CO2.
Reduction of carbon emission to atmosphere becomes defence standard way of Global Warming in developing countries causing gets subsidy in the form of Reducing Emission Certified of Glass House Gases (Certified Emission Reduction – CER) has monetary value and can be marketable by following procedure arranged in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) which is one of mechanism of Protocol Kyoto and renewed in Bali through UNFCCC (United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change). Reduction this carbon emission can be done with reduction of combustion of fossil fuel, cultivation of plant, and or through arrest of methane gas for fuel.
Realizes That Indonesia any way experiencing impact of Global Warming ( Climate Change) and opening of opportunity for Indonesia to obtain efficacy from Market Carbon hence University of Muhammdiyah Malang specifies to stand and to protect from Global Warming, through energy source development program newest and management program of waste.

Before officially is institutionalized, founding community / personnel has started activity that is cooperation between UMM with GERF is started in June 2005 by Prof. Dr. Laode M Kamaluddin, MSc.
